Machu Picchu Putucusi Trek 2 Days

Putucusi,peaking at 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level, Putucusi Mountain is a white-grey granite mountain that was created over 250 million years ago by volcanic uplift. Standing alone to the east of Machu Picchu, Putucusi Mountain forms part of the striking scenery of abrupt irregular slopes, cliffs and rugged terrain that makes this region of Peru so unique and so beautiful

 

Itinerary

DAY 1:PUTUCUSI TREK
you will be picked up from Cusco hotel by our company representative who will then drop you at the railway station of Poroy. The train ride consists of spectacular views in this wonderful land of the Incas, amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces , snowcapped mountains and sub-tropical jungle.
Arrive at Aguas Calientes, hotel staff will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.
At 14:00 pm. you will be picked up by our local guide and then will start the trek to the Putucusi name of a mountain next to Machupicchu. Putucusi is an airy granite tower that stands across the river from Machu Picchu; the distance is about 1.5 Km. This trek takes about 3 hours and will grant you amazing views of the citadel of Machu Picchu from a different angle, as well as the great natural scenery around, featuring giant mountains covered by lush vegetation (Pisonay’s trees, alisos, ferns, puya palm trees and more than 93 species of orchids) all within a mysterious atmosphere
After our trek we will get back to the town of Aguas Calientes, and if you wish, you can go to relax in the thermal baths. The hot springs are located on the upper section of the village and offers outdoor pools. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast in the Hotel.Our guide will take you to the local bus station to catch the bus that goes up to the ruins of Machu Picchu. The bus ride to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu lasts around 25 minutes .Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, where you enjoy a spectacular view of the city enigmatic, visiting the Main Plaza and fountains, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Temple of the Three Windows, various burial grounds ,urban and agricultural sector. After the entire tour is complete, you will have enough time to wander around this Archaeological Site. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon: return by bus and train to Cusco. Overnight at the Hotel in Cusco

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco-City tour

At 1:30pm pick up from the Hotel; guided sightseeing tour in Cusco such as: the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), which displays the best Inca stonework in the city, and the Cathedral in Cusco's Main Square with its magnificent colonial art. Go to the outskirts of the city to see the Inca ruins. Saqsahuaman, the amphitheatre of Qenqo, the fortress of Pukapukara and the spring shrine of Tambomachay.Overnight at the Hotel in Cusco.

Day 2: Cusco-Maras-Moray

Breakfast in the hotel.
We travel out of Cusco in our private transportation until the village of Maras.Maras is a nice little town that still keeps a good part of its architectural colonial beauty. You can see amazing facades made of thin stone, lintels with sculptures in bas-relief.
Since pre-Inca times, salt has been obtained in Maras by evaporating salty water (provided by a nearby subterranean stream) in the sun, leaving the salt behind.
Moray, seeing this Inca green-house. This tour will take you to the magnificent series of terrace circles set into the ground that were once used by the Incas for experimentation with crops. Our private transport will be waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo train station where you'll take train to Aguas Calientes, upon arrival reception and transfer to the Hotel
Overnight at the Hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

Breakfast in the Hotel.
You will be taken to the bus stand at 5:30 am from where you will be driven a short distance (25 minutes) to the Machu Picchu or "Old Mountain". Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, where you enjoy a spectacular view of the city enigmatic, visiting the Main Plaza and fountains, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Temple of the Three Windows, various burial grounds ,urban and agricultural sector. After the entire tour is complete, you will have enough time to wander around this Archaeological Site. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon: return by bus and train to Cusco.Overnight at the Hotel in Cusco.

Your journey to Machu Picchu will be by train,following the route of the Urubamba River all the way to the cloud forest that surrounds Machu Picchu you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the high Andes throughout the course of the journey. On arrival to Aguas Calientes you check in to your comfortable hotel for the night and get a good night's sleep so you can be up at the crack of dawn to visit Machu Picchu the following day. you will have enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sanctuary of Machu Picchu,you can visit the village of Aguas Calientes, the thermal baths and the other attractions that this village has to offer.

The Sacred Valley is characterized to have very special conditions, as an excellent climate, very fertile lands and the waters of the sacred river of the Inca, The Sacred Valley is embraced between the towns of Písac and Ollantaytambo, it has wonderful landscapes where its inhabitants, native of the Quechua ethnic, conserve many customs and ancestral rites.

  

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Pisaq - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Chincheros.

we depart from Cusco around 8:30am and drive to the town of Pisaq, where we will visit a traditional market and you can buy some local souveniers. We continue to Urubamba where we stop for you to have lunch. A further 30 mins drive takes us to Ollantaytambo this is a large site of ruins characterized by fine masonry, terraces, canals, granaries, fortress walls, and the Temple of the Sun. From here our last stop is Chinchero is famous for its church with painted murals and its traditional market which is famous for their handmade textiles and weavings. After visiting the church and market you will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:30pm. Overnight at the Hotel in Cusco.

Day 2: Cusco-Machu Picchu
